199,00 $

Description

Objective:

In this course, students will develop coding skills through project-based learning, engaging in hands-on activities that involve research, programming, and collaboration. By focusing on key concepts such as decomposition, sequencing, loops, and conditionals, students will deepen their understanding of essential coding principles. Working together to solve real-world challenges related to wildlife, they will apply their coding knowledge to create impactful solutions, while fostering teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This approach not only enhances their coding abilities but also encourages them to think creatively and collaboratively to address important environmental issues.

Topics Covered:

  • Weeks 1-2: Decomposition, Programming the Agent, and Task Execution.
  • Weeks 3-4: Research Skills for Biome Projects and Exploring Turtles.
  • Weeks 5-6: Sequencing, Algorithms, and Research Skills for Polar Bears.
  • Weeks 7-8: Loops, Conditionals, and Exploring Pandas.
  • Weeks 9-10: Creating Protected Habitats for Pandas and Researching Gray Wolves.
  • Weeks 11-12: Securing Livestock (Loops & Nested Loops) and Collaborative Project.

Outcome: By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of coding concepts and how to apply them to solve environmental challenges. They will have developed critical research, problem-solving, and coding skills through practical, hands-on experience, culminating in a collaborative project where they create a computational artifact. Students will also gain a sense of empowerment through teamwork and creative problem-solving, addressing real-world issues like wildlife conservation.
